Empowering Through Mentorship
The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves.
At Inspire Girls Academy, we want to begin mentorship at a young age. Our girls need exposure in order to see their own potential. We know that once a child has been exposed to a topic she needs to explore it. We also know that we can pique her interest if she is successful in her explorations. If she feels confident that she can succeed in a given field then her interest will be peaked. In order to feed this exposure, confidence and interest we need mentors who can model success in STEAM fields.
Since children are socialized to fulfill the roles they see represented in media and society, we want our young girls to see woman in a career or role that they may envision for themselves. During the Summer Camp and Afterschool programming the girls will have an opportunity to learn from local Chicago women in STEAM related fields This opportunity will allow the young girls to establish a relationship with women in the field that they are interested in pursuing

Diversity Commitment
At Inspire Girls Academy, we strive to nurture talent and create an environment where that talent can thrive.
To that end, we welcome people of every race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion, philosophy, and sexual orientation. We seek to bring many different perspectives to the great problems our girls will strive to recognize and solve in the world.
Diversity is not only an ideal, but an advantage to those organizations who strive to achieve them. Our collective success mandates that we embrace these objectives of equity and inclusion.
