Our School
In an all-girls atmosphere, classroom dynamics shift.
At IGA, a girl will occupy every role: every part in the play, every seat on student government, and every position on every team. She will have numerous avenues for self-exploration and development, and peer role models will surround her.
IGA will take an holistic approach to educating our girls. Education with a holistic perspective is concerned with the development of every child’s intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, and creative potentials. This approach seeks to engage students in the teaching and learning process and encourages personal and collective responsibility.
Our curriculum will focus on building girls’ confidence so they can break boundaries, cultivate leadership skills, inspire success, and take risks.
Simply put, we will teach girls that they possess unlimited power and potential.
Our Mission
Inspire Girls Academy was created to offer a high quality, holistic education to young girls with a focus on health, body, and mind.
Our innovative, whole-person approach to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education will tap into a girl’s individual strengths, character, and innate curiosity so she can discover her own passion for learning. Our curriculum will teach young scholars to challenge societal norms around STEAM, and prepare them to focus their passion and work toward impacting their communities and the world.
Diversity Commitment
At Inspire Girls Academy, we strive to nurture talent and create an environment where that talent can thrive.
To that end, we welcome people of every race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion, philosophy, and sexual orientation. We seek to bring many different perspectives to the great problems our girls will strive to recognize and solve in the world.
Diversity is not only an ideal, but an advantage to those schools who strive to achieve them. Our collective success mandates that we embrace these objectives of equity and inclusion.
School Building
We are currently working with a local realty group to find the perfect location for our school, near the heart of downtown Chicago, in the meantime click here to see the plans for the building’s interior created by Peter Harlan from Harlan + Studio.
Our vision is to create spaces where students and teachers can collaborate on specific, age-appropriate projects. Each classroom will feature a unique design, as well as Mac and Windows work stations with large screen monitors, sound-bars, microphones, headphones, iPads, and cameras. A makerspace will provide students hands-on, creative ways to tinker, design, experiment, build, and invent as they engage deeply with art, science, and engineering.
